Macloch Construction participated in the construction of the Galashiels Transport Interchange in 2015, working with Morrison Construction. The £5.2m project orchestrated by Scottish Borders Council, in partnership with Hub South East Scotland, was a major development in the wider Borders Railway project aiming to bolster connections in the area as well as create better amenities for passengers and tourists such as showers, changing facilities and cafés.
Macloch Construction has conducted the installation and supply of the Dry Lining, Suspended Ceilings, and Partitions.
The unique design and shape of the building posed many challenges for our team, which were overcome with hard work and close attention to detail. There were also continuous design changes for the duration of the project meaning that an ability to adapt to changing circumstances was crucial. We are proud to have played such a key role in the development of this award winning project (‘Town Centre Regeneration Project of the Year’ at the Scottish Property Awards), which was also completed within budget and on time for the opening of the new Borders Railway. The project was finished in July 2015.
