This £34m project began in November 2013 and has taken place over several phases with Macloch Construction working with Morrison Construction for Hub South East Scotland and the Scottish Government. The first phase encompassed the replacement of the nursery and gym at James Gillespie Primary alongside several new classrooms. The second phase involved the replacing of James Gillespie High School containing 57 classrooms. The on-going final phase of the project comprises of a performing arts and sports block.
Macloch Construction has conducted the installation and supply of the Dry Lining, Joinery and Partitions.
A particular aspect of the project we have taken delight in completing was the design and manufacturing of the Reception Desk for the new High School complementing our portfolio of similar items such as the desks at Ardrossan Medical Centre and Montrose Sports complex. A further feature we are proud of was our Oak Panelling of certain staircases within the building. We are also happy to be part of such a large project which has not only created opportunities for ourselves, but assisted in developing skills and growing the economy in the local area. The project is due to be completed in Summer 2016.
