Macloch Construction embarked on the third phase of the £6m Rising Rolls extensions in June 2015, working with Morrison Construction. This was the final phase of the set of extensions which had taken place in the preceding years for the City of Edinburgh council and Hub South East Scotland. The £6m project comprised of work on 7 schools, providing 24 classrooms in Clermiston, Flora Stevenson, Gilmerton, James Gillespie’s, Pentland, Ratho and Wardie Primaries.
Macloch Construction has conducted the installation and supply of the Dry Lining, Suspended Ceilings, Internal Door Sets, Partitions, Ironmongery, Joinery and External Cladding.
Macloch Construction’s contracted works operated within a tight 12 week programme at schools dispersed throughout Edinburgh with limited access and minimal lay down areas. This created a logistical challenge with respect to delivery of materials to the sites and waste management, which we strived hard to manage efficiently and successfully. Although the majority of the work took place during the school vacation, care was also taken to minimise disruption to staff and pupils while the schools were occupied and extra attention to safety was paramount. We are proud to have played a key role in such a project, which finished both on time and on budget. This project finished in August 2015
